Innocent or Not

Are you really innocent if you run from law enforcement? High speed chases do need to be contained in some manner. However, we have to understand that they indeed do have something to hide.

How are you doing? How was your Christmas? Good I hope! I guess this doesn't really fit as a comment to your post just a quick hello! Have a nice day!

In almost every case, people running from the cops don't have a deep dark secret to hide; they just don't want to get a ticket. It's hard to believe that there are that many people that are THAT STUPID and THAT SELF-CENTERED, but it's true. Unless the cop KNOWS that the person running is an escaped felon or murderer, the chances of them actually being that kind of a desperado are extremely rare. Does this mean that cops should simply let people run? In some cases, yes. There are many factors that a cop and his/her supervisor has to consider before deciding whether or not to give chase. And they don't have a whole lot of time to think it over. I don't envy that kind of pressure.

Well answer this, what sort of example are we sending that if you run from the cops and put up enough of a fuss then we will let you go?

I just want to make this point these are not simple decisions.

If you know who the person is and you are extremely sure of who they are then stop the pursuit and just go to their house and arrest them there.
